Jakarta Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat, initiated the launching and socialization of the sidewalk arrangement on Jl. Sudirman-MH Thamrin, "Kick Off #Trotoarkita".

He disclosed it is a form of awareness of Jakarta Provincial Government against pedestrians.
"We care about pedestrians. The 6.6 kilometer sidewalk will be made to have a width of eight to 11 meters," he stated, at the location, Imam Bonjol Car Free Day area, Central Jakarta, Sunday (10/8).
According to him, the sidewalk arrangement will be accompanied by greening. Thus, it will become more beautiful and give coolness.
"Right now there are 1,670 trees. After passing through revitalization, there will be 1,950 trees," he explained.
He added the project is targeted to be done prior to Asian Games XVIII.
"It is targeted to be done in the upcoming August," he finished.
