January-September, S. Jakarta KPKP Sub-dept. Vaccinated 5,548 Animals

In January-September periods, South Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Tenacity (KPKP) Sub-dept. has vaccinated 5,548 animals that can transmit rabies (HPR)s.

We have reached 98.89 percent in vaccination program

South Jakarta KPKP Sub-dept. Head, Wahyuni said her side has a target to vaccinate 5,610 HPR in 2017. Vaccinated animals are monkey, cat, dog, and weasel.

"We have reached 98.89 percent in vaccination program," she said, Monday (10/9).

She added, rabies vaccine is important to be given to HPR thus can avoid human from rabies contamination through animal bites.

Vaccination program is held in 10 sub-districts in South Jakarta by using jemput bola system, or visiting animal owner's houses.

"Thus South Jakarta can be freed from rabies," she closed.
