Dishub: Parking Attendant Burned in Monas is Illegal Official

A parking attendant named Yusri (40) was burned by unknown person in Monas Silang Timur area near exit gate towards Gambir Station on Tuesday (6/24) night around 10.45 PM. It is alleged that the fire was set by an army (TNI) officer initialed H because Yusri did not give enough money to him.

I have received report on that case. The main point is that he (Yusri) was not our parking official parking attendant

Responding on this matter, Jakarta Transportation Department admitted has received the report, but refused to give comment because the victim was illegal parking attendant. This is because the official parking lot managed by the department’s parking management unit is only the one at Indonesia Restaurant and Park Association Field (IRTI).

Police to Soon Reveal SMAN 3 Student Death Case

I have received report on that case. The main point is that he (Yusri) was not our parking official parking attendant,” stated Head of Jakarta Transportation Department Parking Management Unit, Sunardi Sinaga, Tuesday (6/25).

According to Sinaga, Parking Management Unit only handles parking in IRTI Monas, especially if there were events held in the National Monument area.

“Actually, we are only managing parking in IRTI area. But if there were events held in Silang Timur or Silang Barat Monas areas, we could arrange it. Parking attendants working outside Monas area are not our men,” he uttered.

Sinaga assessed the incident related to thuggery action, which is difficult to be avoided in the field.

“Perhaps the incident related to thuggery action,” he said.

This case is now being investigated by the police who have questioned some witnesses. As for Yusri, he is now under intensive care in Tarakan Hospital, Central Jakarta.
