Ignored Train’s Horns, 2 Died of Hit by Locomotive Train

Two people died instantly at the scene after being hit by a locomotive train at Gunung Antang railway crossing, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, Wednesday (6/4), around 4.30 AM.

The train had sounded the horn many times, but the victims ignored it. When the train got closer, they panicked and tried to avoid it but they failed

Makmur (46), an eyewitness, said the victims’ bodies had bounced off for as far as five meters. One suffered serious injuries on the head and the other suffered broken leg and arm.

Train Rams Into Innova Car, One Died

An ambulance arrived at the scene at 6 AM and immediately brought the victims’ bodies to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) for an autopsy.

According to Jatinegara Sector Police Detective and Crime Unit Chief Adj. Comr. DP Ambarita, this incident is pure accident. One of victims is identified as Taryono (24), a resident of Jatglaba Village, RT 03/04, Margasari, Tegal, Central Java. As for the other victim identity, the identity is still unknown.

“One victim suffered devastating injuries with broken heads, while the other one had broken leg. Both got hit by the train’s locomotive,” stated Ambarita.

In addition, the police also found an ID card on behalf of Taryono, a vehicle ownership document (STNK) on behalf of Ridwan, a ticket letter from the police, and a brochure of spa in Tebet, South Jakarta.
