Environment Dept. Asked to Study Waste Management in Other Countries

Jakarta DPRD's Commission D has asked Environment Dept. to conduct a comparative study to other countries. It is purposed to learn the pattern of good waste handling.

Iman Satria, Chairman of Jakarta DPRD's Commission D expressed, other countries that have been able to properly process their waste are exemplary.

"Waste management in Jakarta requires a breakthrough and a bold step," he stated, when he discussed the 2018 City Budget Priorities and the Provisional Budget Platform (KUA-PPAS), at City Council building, Tuesday (11/7).

He adds waste management solutions through the Intermediate Treatment Facility (ITF) also need to be realized soon.

Meanwhile, Assistant for Development and Environment, Gamal Sinurat uttered, comparative study has been done. Yet, the implementation has not been done in full.

"We have the constraints of experts and technology that still do not exist, but we will continue to do our best," he closed.
