The waste management site construction is proposed to be developed in Seribu Islands. By doing so, it is hoped able to reduce waste disposal towards Bantar Gebang Landfill.
Jakarta DPRD Commission D Member, Pandapotan Sinaga disclosed, Bantar Gebang capacity has its limit. Therefore there must be another location for waste disposal prior to the development of the Intermediate Treatment Facility (ITF).
Waste Management Program in City is In line With Sync Team"We can use one island to be transformed into waste management site in Seribu Islands," he expressed, during Public Discussion with theme of manipulating private role towards waste management, Cikini area, Central Jakarta, Thursday (8/3).
According to him, waste management can also reduce the social impact on the people. It is because it is not directly related to the residential areas.
"Waste can be transported by barge ship while waiting for ITF development. So Jakarta does not depend on Bantar Gebang," he said.
