93 Connecting Channels in West Jakarta Repaired

West Jakarta Administration keeps repairing and maintaining 93 connecting channels that spread in eight sub-districts. The repair that has been ongoing since January until now has spent around Rp 52 billion.

We also do dredging towards mud in the channel to make it able to accommodate water in large quantities

Juniarto Ardiansyah, Section Head of Maintenance for West Jakarta Water Resources Sub-dept. said one of the efforts to repair connecting channel is by replacing its sheet pile.

Petamburan Connecting Channel Is Cleaned

"We also do dredging towards mud in the channel to make it able to accommodate water in large quantities," he expressed, Monday (11/27).

He explains it is done to follow up public aspirations via Development Planning Forum (Musrenbang).

"It includes the results of the council recess when they went to the field to collect public aspirations," he explained.

Currently his sub-dept. is focused on maintenance of the connecting channels of the Intercon pier in Kembangan, Kemanggisan Pulo TPU and Hankam in Palmerah.

"Until now realization of budget use has touched more than 70 percent. This doesn't include payment of salaries for blue troops," he concluded.
