Currently, I'm doing checking whether the auction process has done or not, because we plan to install the canopy this year

"We have repaired the bridge's floor, yet its canopy unfinished. Currently, I'm doing checking whether the auction process has done or not, because we plan to install the canopy this year," said Head of Jakarta Transportation Department, M Akbar, at City Hall, Monday (6/30).

Akbar disclosed that his department is indeed routinely conducting repair at several damaged pedestrian bridges in Jakarta. He assessed, one of the causes of the damage is caused by nosy actions from irresponsible people.

"Each year, we always do renovation or repair," he told.

He added not all pedestrian bridges in Jakarta are the authority of Transportation Department. The reason is some bridges on toll road are toll road management.

"Our duty is only making a report to them to immediately repair the damaged bridges," he asserted.
