Jakarta and MRT Will Hold Basement Management Workshop

Harmonization between coordination and regulation of basement is very important since MRT lane will use an underground tunnel access

Jakarta Provincial Government with PT. Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) is looking to hold a workshop about basement management at City Hall yesterday, Wednesday (12/6).

PT. MRT President Director, William Sabandar said that the workshop is important, because basement is still used for commercial interest but it has not been regulated yet in Act No. 26/2001 about Spatial Planning.

PT. MRT Assigned as TOD Areas Main Operator

"Harmonization between coordination and regulation of basement is very important since MRT lane will use an underground tunnel access," he explained, Tuesday (12/5).

He added that it is also important, because PT. MRT Jakarta has a role as TOD main operator. Thus, his side invited various experts in the workshop, namely MTI Expert Council Head, ATR/BPN Ministry's Spatial Planning Directorate General, Kemendagri's OTDA Directorate General, Kemenhub's BPTJ Head, and others.

"We hope it can give some recommendations for stakeholders toward regulation that will be needed for a better basement management," he conveyed.
