PT. MRT Assigned as TOD Areas Main Operator

Jakarta Provincial Government has assigned PT. MRT Jakarta as the main operator of MRT Phase 1's Transit Oriented Development (TOD) for North-South Corridor Areas.

Pergub has assigned PT. MRT to cooperate with developers or owners of building which affected by TOD

Jakarta Secretary, Saefullah said the assignment is mentioned in Governor Regulation (Pergub) No. 140/2017 about PT. MRT Jakarta Assignment as Main Operator of TOD Areas.

"This Pergub has assigned PT. MRT to cooperate with developers or owners of building affected by TOD. Both elevated and underground," he said at City Hall, Wednesday (10/25).

MRT Project in South Jakarta Accelerated

Based on Pergub, he continued, eight TOD corridor areas in phase 1 will be managed by PT. MRT Jakarta. There are Bundaran HI, Dukuh Atas, Setiabudi, Bendungan Hilir, Istora, Senayan, Blok M, and Lebak Bulus areas.

According to him, PT. MRT has four main tasks in this project. First, it should coordinate land or building owners in area planning and development.

Second, to support acceleration in facilities and infrastructure construction in TOD areas according to City Planning Guidelines.

Third, to coordinate land or building owners, tenants or other stakeholders in TOD area management, maintenance and monitoring.

Last, to monitor TOD area development implementation, whether in its planning, maintenance, and development.

He added, this assignment considers PT. MRT Jakarta as the most strategic side in realizing City mass public transportation.

"After Pergub has been issued, hopefully developers can coordinate with PT. MRT Jakarta to plan about TOD areas development  together," he expressed.

PT. MRT Jakarta Director, William Sabandar stated his preparedness in conducting assignment as TOD Areas Main Operator.

"Our role as main operator is to ensure safety and security in areas near stations thus many people will use MRT Jakarta," he closed.
