Jakarta UPPL Collects Rp 177.3 M This Year

Jakarta Illegal Levies Eradication Unit (UPPL) collects Rp 177.3 million from illegal levy evidences.

Total collected evidences in this year is Rp 177.3 million

Jakarta UPPL Head, Kombes Pol Kamarul Zaman said, his side has been routinely giving socialization and holding illegal levy operations. In one year, 138 cases of OTT (caught-in-act) operation were conducted.

"Total collected evidences in this year is Rp 177.3 million. Both from apparatus and citizen," he stated at City Hall, Tuesday (12/19).

He informed, illegal levy evidences are taken from 30 police apparatus, 9 civil servants (PNS), and 370 from public. 

According to him, most of operation modes are dominated by illegal parking with 107 cases. Others are from ticketing, extortion, illegal levies from assisting to handle permissions, ticket brokers, and more.

"We will move forward. We need all sides and related components support," he expressed.

He added, annual Jakarta UPPL's evaluation event which held today is to enhance its commitment and optimize its performance. Thus local government could be freed from illegal levies.

UPPL is formed by Jakarta Provincial Government, Polda Metro Jaya, Kodam Jaya, Jakarta's High Prosecutors, Ministry of Law and Human Rights in Jakarta Region, Jakarta Ombudsman, and TNI.

"UPPL is hoped to enhance public participation in order to get rid of all illegal levies practices," he affirmed.
