The unification of National Monument (Monas) area management is predicted to settle this month. Its legal umbrella will be the governor regulation on Monas Cup and Monas Park Management Unit (UP).

“The draft of governor regulation on Monas UP unification is still in the Legal Affairs Bureau, still needs to be improved. In sya Allah (with God’s permission) the process would finish soon. The target is that Mr. Basuki (Acting Jakarta Governor) to sign the regulation this month,” stated Head of Jakarta Organization and Methods Bureau, Deny Wahyu, Thursday (7/3).
Basuki to Merge Two Monas Technical Management Unit
Besides drafting governor regulation, other processes that need to be conducted are assets and financial diversion by Jakarta Finance Management (BPKD) as well as approval from both parties, namely Tourism and Culture Department and Parks and Cemeteries Department.
For information, Monas Cup UP and Monas Park UP are under different management. Monas Cup UP is under Jakarta Tourism and Culture Department, while Monas Park UP is under Jakarta Parks and Cemeteries Department.
“Later after the governor regulation has been ratified, Monas UP management will be fully under Jakarta Tourism and Culture Department,” told Wahyu.
For that, Basuki has appointed Head of Monas Cup UP, Rini Haryani, as Head of Monas UP. As for Head of Monas Park UP, Firdaus Rasyid, he will return to Jakarta Parks and Cemeteries Department as a civil servant.
