The area of Kalijodo Urban Village, Tambora Sub-District West Jakarta, which known as a slum area with rampant prostitution and gambling acts as well as liquors distribution, will change into a green open space (RTH). But before that, West Jakarta Administration must first wait for proposal from Jakarta Parks and Cemeteries Department for land acquisition and green open space construction.
Kalijodo matter, it is now only needed to wait Jakarta Parks and Cemeteries Department to propose for land acquisition and green open space construction
“Kalijodo matter, it is now only needed to wait Jakarta Parks and Cemeteries Department to propose for land acquisition and green open space construction,” stated West Jakarta Mayor, Anas Effendi, Thursday (7/3).
According to Effendi, West Jakarta Administration only has responsibility to acquiesce land in two RTs, namely RT 07 and RT 08. The rest becomes North Jakarta Administration’s responsibility.
City to Transform Parks with Creative Economy ConceptBased on current data, there are 178 families living in those two RTs, 45 houses, and 88 semi-permanent buildings. From existing buildings, some of them do not have building permit (IMB).
Meanwhile, Head of Tambora Sub-District, Chalik, disclosed that his party has sent notification letter to the residents living in RT 07 and RT 08 about upcoming building demolition and land acquisition for green open space construction. But so far, the residents have yet responded the letter.
“We have sent (notification) letter to the residents, so there is no excuse they don’t know about this (land acquisition),” he asserted.
Surahman, RT 07 Chief, refused to give comment on the plan to transform Kalijodo into green open space area.
“Please ask the residents directly. The decision is in their hands,” he said.
