This Year, Transjakarta Bus Procurement Cancelled

If we buy the bus this year, the fleet will arrive next year 

The PT Jakarta Transportation (Transjakarta) has not been able to add the shortfall of Transjakarta bus this year. This is because it takes about eight months to assemble the bus fleet.

PT Transjakarta Director, Antonius Kosasih disclosed that Jakarta Provincial Government already handed over the bus purchase to his party. Yet, the bus procurement cannot be realized this year, yet it was predicted to be realized next year.

"If we buy the bus this year, the fleet will arrive next year because it will take around eight months," he told, at City Hall, Thursday (7/3).

As planned, the bus procurement would be conducted after Eid ul Fitr. This is because his party is still looking for sole authorized agents (ATPM) and has good specs for Transjakarta bus. "Certainly, the bus will arrive next year if we buy it this year, considering we need time to process it," he exclaimed.

His party will also be careful thus the previous case over bus procurement in 2013 can be prevented. One of the requirements for the company involved in this project is in collaboration with the ATPM which has an office in Jakarta. Thus, bus repairs and its spare parts purchase is guaranteed. Likewise with the Government Capital Inclusion (PMP) from Jakarta government for bus purchase will be added from Rp 677 billion to Rp 2 trillion. But his party should change the bylaw first.

"We have to revise the bylaw, because there has been approximately Rp 677 billion," he stated.
