Cheap Market in Central Jakarta to Sell Staples Half Price

Central Jakarta Administration will hold cheap market on upcoming July 17-18. Takes place on Jalan KS Tubun, Petamburan Urban Village, Tanah Abang Sub-District, the market will sell staples only for half price of market price.

There will be 50 percent discount. We’ll also prepare packaged foods and fashion products. But, the discount is only for staples like rice, sugar, and cooking oil

Head of Central Jakarta Cooperatives, Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises and Trade (KUMKMP) Sub-Department, Sri Indrastuti, said that her department involves private party that supplies stocks of staples to supermarkets in the city.

“There will be 50 percent discount. We’ll also prepare packaged foods and fashion products. But, the discount is only for staples like rice, sugar, and cooking oil,” she stated, Saturday (7/5).

Cheap Market Held After Presidential Election

According to Indrastuti, the 50 percent discount only applies to residents who have coupons which can be obtained in urban village and sub-district offices in Central Jakarta.

“Later, the staples in the cheap market are bought with coupons and got discount for half price. The coupons distribution is done by urban village and sub-district offices,” she uttered without telling how many coupons prepared.
