From Rp 85 thousand, resident will get subsidy through coupon worth Rp 30 thousand. By so, they can buy beef per kilogram at the price of 55 thousand

The rocketing price of beef from Rp 80-85 thousand/kg to Rp 90-95 thousand/kg is responded by Jakarta Provincial Government through subsidy program. In subsidy program that will be held on July 14-18 in six sub-districts in North Jakarta, the North Jakarta Fishery, Livestock, and Marine Sub-Department will sell beef at Rp 85 thousand to Rp 55 thousand.

Head of North Jakarta Fishery, Livestock, and Marine Sub-Department, Sri Haryanti stated approaching Eid ul Fitr, beef price would hit Rp 120 thousand/kg. Hence, her sub-department plans to lighten resident's burden through subsidy program by distributing beef coupon.

"From Rp 85 thousand, resident will get subsidy through coupon worth Rp 30 thousand. By so, they can buy beef per kilogram at the price of 55 thousand," he expressed, Tuesday (7/1).

As many as 3,350 coupons will be distributed to residents via urban villages in North Jakarta. Every resident would get one kilogram of beef for one coupon and the coupon can directly be exchanged in North Jakarta Mayor office, Jalan Yos Sudarso, Tanjung Priok.

Meanwhile, Joni (33), a beef seller at Rawa Badak Market predicts hike price on beef in Ramadan would happen twice, on the first day of the fasting month and Eid ul Fitr. He who has been selling beef for seven years used to sell 9-10 beefs or equivalent to 2 tons per day. 

"Ahead of Ramadan, I can sell 10 beefs per day," he stated.
