With TNP2K, City Gears Up to Suppress Poverty in Jakarta

Jakarta Deputy Governor, Sandiaga Uno met the National Team for the Accelaration of Proverty Reduction (TNP2K) at TNP2K Secretariat Office, Jalan Kebon Sirih, Menteng, Central Jakarta yesterday.

In the meeting, both discussed about efforts to alleviate poverty in Jakarta.

Sandi disclosed that Jakarta Provincial Government is currently preoccupied with KJP Plus program, free health service for the poor, OK OTrip, OK OCE and housing project with zero rupiah down payment. 

City Intends to Maximize Poverty Alleviation Program

His party also wants to make sure the cost of living does not increase sharply.

"The poverty rate in Jakarta is still 3.77 percent. In the next five years, we intend to reduce the poverty rate by 1 percent," he expressed, Thursday (1/18).

They also discussed about Independent Update Mechanism (MKM) integrated data of Poor Handling Program (PPFM). The city's data via Jakarta Smart City will be synchronized with TNP2K to make it more efficient to intervene in tackling poverty.

"Together, we can analyze the existing data. Thus it is able to ensure poverty alleviation programs can be on the right target and have appropriate benefits," he uttered.

Meanwhile, TNP2K Executive Secretary, Bambang Widianto was supporting such programs to alleviate poverty.

"By so, our target to suppress poverty at one percent can be achieved," he said.
