A 6.1 Richter Scale earthquake that struck Lebak, Banten, West Java, yesterday afternoon was also felt at Jakarta City Hall, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Gambir, Central Jakarta.

When the earthquake happened at around 1.24 PM, Jakarta Deputy Governor, Sandiaga Uno was meeting with some television presenters. Aware of the earthquake, they had panicked but tried to calm down.

"Actually I was panicked as well. When I spoke to them, the chandelier looked shaky," he told, Tuesday (1/23).

He furthered that it was also felt by media friends. The KDH and KLN bureaus immediately escorted us all get out of the building to make sure the situation was secure.

To avoid unwanted things, he stated, safety level of multi-story buildings, especially belong to Jakarta Provincial Government should be monitored. a few buildings that have aged quite old.
