Segmental Girder Box Installation at Kelapa Gading LRT Begins

The first installation of the segmental girder box (SGB) at Light Rail Transit (LRT), Jalan Boulevard Utara, Kelapa Gading Timur, North Jakarta begins.

Launching gantry system is not using a crane car

PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) President Director, Satya Heragandhi said, until the end of this year, 1,300 SGBs are targeted to be installed at LRT lane as long as six kilometers, starting from Kelapa Gading Depot until Velodrome Rawamangan Station.

As the initial stage, he stated, 4 SGBs will be installed using launching gantry system.

LRT Construction Phase 1 Reaches 12.75 Percent

"Launching gantry system is not using a crane car. Once pulled up, it is directly assembled by the launcher," he expressed, Monday (5/29).

To speed up its installation, his side intends to prepare four units of launching gantry. Thus the project can be completed this year, and then continued with railway construction and train procurement in 2018.

"The pile is big enough and can withstand earthquakes with a magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter scale. Thus far the project has touched 21 percent," he closed.
