Unlisted, Street Vendors Stormed Office of C. Jakarta KUMKMP

Dozens of IRTI Monas street vendors came to the office of the Central Jakarta Small and Medium Enterprises Cooperatives (KUMKMP) Sub-Department. They protest because their names are not listed in 339 guidance traders at IRTI Monas. Whereas, they have been selling since a dozen years.

We're old trader at IRTI Monas, but our name is not listed. Why new traders easily get stall there?

"We're old traders at IRTI Monas, but our name is not listed. Why new traders easily get stall there?," questioned Buyung (47), a souvenir trader at IRTI Monas Market, Monday (7/7).

Buyung was very upset because his name is not included in the list of 339 guidance traders at IRTI Monas that was announced by Central Jakarta KUMKMP through flyers. Moreover, he admitted that he has been selling souvenir about 12 years. Even he also has completed and submitted all requirements, like ID card photocopy, family card, and photo (4X6).

City to Apply Non-Cash Retribution to 2,875 Street Vendors

"Prior to Ramadan, we got a call from sub-district office for data collection. Yet our name is not listed in the computer, but other traders," he complained.

Similar statement was also said by a clothes trader, Anas (45). According to him, more than 60 old traders' names are not listed. Initially, those were already prioritized to occupy places near deer cage at the market. "That's why, we demand our rights. If the problem cannot be resolved, we will protest to City Hall," he threatened.

Responding on this matter, Head of Central Jakarta KUMKMP Sub-Department, Sri Indrastuti argued that the IRTI Monas traders come to her office to submit their biodata.

"Actually we have not received biodata. But now, they come and give biodata to us. I also have made guidance trader cards," she expressed.

She continued that the biodata is very important to get card and number to get stall at the market. If all data is already collected, trader levy will be paid via automatic teller machine (ATM).

"Trader should pay levy via ATM, and Acting Jakarta Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama asks them not to rent the stalls. This morning, we have made the draft," she told.

Indrastuti assessed those biodata would be locked to avoid additional new traders, likewise with old traders who already crossed out due to they never trade in the guidance location.

"The biodata been sorted and cannot be tampered, there is no additional new traders. So, we lock the existing traders," he finished
