Project's Crane in Jatinegara Collapsed

Crane which is used to lift girder concrete for double-double track (DDT) project or double rail on Jalan Matraman Raya, Kampung Melayu, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, collapsed on Sunday (2/4) morning. 5 workers became victims due to this incident.

Police are handling this case and police line has been installed on location

2 of 5 victims were crushed by the concrete and died on the spot. Three others were taken to hospital. During medical treatment, two victims died in Jatinegara Premier Hospital and Jatinegara Hermina Hospital. While one was allowed to go home after receiving medical treatment at Hermina Hospital.

Head of RW 06 Kampung Melayu, Alwi said, within 500 meters radius residents heard the crane fell. "Residents were panick. On the location, they saw the victims lying on the ground," he mentioned, Sunday (2/4).

Died victims are Jaenudin (44) Karawang citizen, Joni Fitrianto (19), Jana (44) Bandung Barat citizen, and Dami Prasetyo (25) Purwerejo citizen, Central Java.

"Police are handling this case and police line has been installed on location. We ask citizen to stay away from location," said Nasrudin Abu Bakar, Jatinegara Sub-district Head.

Until now, police and project contractor haven't give official statement yet.
