Digital Island Concept will Be Applied in Seribu Islands

Jakarta Provincial Government will apply Digital Island concept to develop Seribu Islands tourism and its resident's economy.

We want to dedicate Seribu Islands as Digital Island

Jakarta Vice Governor, Sandiaga Uno said, information and technology utilization will give an easiness to access services in Seribu Islands. Thus it can lead Seribu Islands to be more advanced and prosperous.

"We want to dedicate Seribu Islands as Digital Island. This concept will be launched in this March or April," he stated, Thursday (2/8).

He explained, currently his side is still analyzing and evaluating to decide on one island of Seribu Islands that is proper for pilot project.

"We are still considering one location for it. It could be Tidung Island, Panggang Island, or Pramuka Island," he expressed.

According to him, information and technology utilization can boost promotion for Seribu Islands as tourism destination. Because any information related to Seribu Islands will be easy to access both for local and foreign tourists.

"From its destination, homestay, culinary and transportation cost information can be obtained," he mentioned.

For this concept implementation, he continued, each islands in Seribu Islands should have interesting spots for promotion. Thus number of visitors could be increased.

"I won't allow any blank spot or unattractive spots," he affirmed.
