Tanah Abang Block G Market will Be Totally Renovated

PD. Pasar Jaya will conduct total renovation to Block G Market, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta and re-built it with Transit Oriented Development (TOD) concept.

There are 2,200 shops in Block G Market but only 900 traders who are still active

PD. Pasar Jaya Public Relation Head, Amanda Gita said, total renovation is needed because its building is not capable anymore and it doesn't have parking space.

"There are 2,200 shops in Block G Market but only 900 traders who are still active. We plan to construct the building and adjust it with number of active traders," she informed, Friday (3/9).

She explained, its building is planned to have 4-6 floors for market and parking area, then seven floors above it will be used for dwellings, but its concept hasn't been discussed further, whether it will be used for hotels, flats or apartments.

She added, current construction progress is on cooperation phase because letter from Public Appraisal Service Office is recently issued. After there is approval for cooperation then shelter for traders will be built on Jl. Jati Baru Raya until all construction have been completed.

"I will make sure Block G Market construction with TOD concept will be done this year with estimation to complete in two or three years," she stated.
