City-Kehati to Review Potential Cooperation For Environmental Conservation

Jakarta Vice Governor, Sandiaga Uno held meeting with Keanekaragaman Hayati (Kehati) Foundation caretakers at City Hall, Jl. Medan Merdeka Selatan, Gambir, Central Jakarta.

This meeting discussed about potential cooperation between Jakarta Provincial Government and Kehati Foundation.
Potential cooperation that will be done is related to coral reefs conservation and cleaning in Teluk Jakarta, marine ecotourism program and trash management in Harapan Island, Seribu Islands.

He asked
Seribu Islands Regent, Irmansyah and Seribu Islands Vice Regent, Ismer Harahap to follow up marine ecotourism model strengthening and trash management with Kehati Foundation."I want Seribu Islands Regent and Vice Regent to submit routine report," he affirmed.
He also wants collaboration between sectors of Seribu Islands and North Jakarta Governments for mangrove management in Muara Angke.
"This is joint effort. I hope Jakarta Government and Kehati Foundation could make cooperation structure within 30-45 days ahead," he conveyed.
He added, his side also wants to realize other potential cooperation which is to campaign besek (woven bamboo basket) as styrofoam replacement to make it more environmentally friendly.
"We will coordinate it with Environment Dept. and Education Dept. thus it can be socialized in schools. Besides, I want OK OCE merchants to be involved in this program," he said.
