Sandi Drives 13 TODs in MRT Phase I Area

Jakarta Deputy Governor, Sandiaga Uno, encouraged 13 transit-oriented developments (TOD) in the area of Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Phase I (Lebak Bulus-HI Roundabout).

He stated, PT MRT has been officially designated as the main operator of TOD concept that integrates residential with the MRT. 

Residential with TOD Concept will Be Made in Lebak Bulus

"There are 13 TODs driven in Phase I. For the next phase of MRT will also apply the same concept," he stated, after receiving exposure related to TOD MRT, at City Hall, Monday (4/23).

In the presentation presented, he assessed, there are a number of TOD concept development schemes.

"Principally we want to minimize the budget. Hence, we want to have synergy with BUMN and private party," he stated.

As for the information, Jakarta Provincial Government continues to develop TOD concept. It is aimed to reduce the use of private vehicles, parse traffic jam and minimize air pollution.

This concept is also projected to improve healthy and active lifestyles, access to employment and economic opportunities, and increase alternative modes of movement in urban areas.
