East Jakarta Administration Holds Cheap Market

East Jakarta Poultry and Fishery Sub-Department holds cheap market on the yard of East Jakarta Mayor office on Jalan Dr Sumarno No. 1, Pulogebang Urban Village, Cakung Sub-District, Tuesday (7/22) until upcoming Friday (7/25).

We provide 5,700 kilograms of chicken meat, 4,000 kilograms of egg, and 2,790 kilograms of beef. All goods we sold are getting subsidy from Jakarta Provincial Government

“We provide 5,700 kilograms of chicken meat, 4,000 kilograms of egg, and 2,790 kilograms of beef. All goods we sold are getting subsidy from Jakarta Provincial Government, so we can sell them in cheaper price than market price,” stated Head of Poultry Section for East Jakarta Poultry and Fishery Sub-Department, Sri Astuti.

According to Astuti, beef gets subsidy of Rp 30,000 and sold for Rp 55,000 per kilogram, chicken subsidy Rp 15,000 sold for Rp 25,000 per piece, and egg subsidy Rp 5,000 sold for Rp 15,000 per kilogram.

Meanwhile, Head of East Jakarta Poultry and Fishery Sub-Department, Wachyuni, said this cheap market is a routine done by her department in welcoming Eid ul Fitr. It is held to reduce the burden of residents who cannot afford to buy meat for the big day.

Mutmainah (40), one of Pulogebang residents, admitted very helpful with the presence of cheap market.

“It is very helpful. I hope it doesn’t only sell meat and eggs, but other products as well, such as rice, flour, and cooking oil,” she expressed.
