Kalideres Terminal Dominated by Homecomers Heading to Java

My two children have entered holiday period, thus we immediately go to our hometown to prevent congestion 

A week approaching Eid ul Fitr, the Kalideres Intercity Interprovince (AKAP) Terminal, West Jakarta, has begun filled with hundreds of homecomers. Generally, those are dominated with destination to West Java, Central Java, and East Java.

One of them is Kasmuri (48), a passenger heading to Pemalang, Central Java, said along with his wife and two children decide to go to the hometown early to avoid traffic congestion. "My two children have entered holiday period, thus we immediately go to our hometown to prevent congestion approaching of Eid ul Fitr," he expressed, Monday (7/21).

He who daily sells kerosene in Pegadungan, Kalideres, admitted to return his hometown, he used to use the air-conditioned Sinar Jaya bus plying Kalideres-Pekalongan. He had to spent about Rp 50 thousand per person to buy the ticket in the moment of Eid ul Fitr compared to regular days sold at Rp 50 thousand.

"Ahead of Eid ul Fitr, the ticket bus will keep increasing to Eid ul Fitr, which is three-fold than regular days," he exclaimed.

Head of Kalideres AKAP Terminal, Joko Sukarno uttered price hike on bus ticket is the authority of the otobus company, but not Transportation Department. While passenger surge, peak of homecoming flow at Kalideres Terminal will happen on three days before Eid ul Fitr.

"Predictably, the amount of passengers would keep increasing drastically on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The current amount is only 21 percent. Hence, we will add 75 fleets per day on three days before Eid ul Fitr," he stressed.
