World Cities Summit, Sandi Held Meeting with Some Figures

We are here also aiming to find forms of collaboration among many cities

Coinciding with the World Cities Summit in Singapore, Jakarta Deputy Governor, Sandiaga Uno also held a meeting with  a number of figures. Besides Rotterdam Mayor, Ahmed Aboutaleb, he also had the opportunity to directly discuss with Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister, Tharman Shanmugaratnam.

Along with Mr. Ahmed Aboutaleb, he discussed the strengthening of Sister City cooperation between Jakarta-Rotterdam in the field of water resources management. Previously, the cooperation between Jakarta and Rotterdam had been done with the exchange of information and knowledge involving urban structuring, waste management, infrastructure development, etc.

"We are here also aiming to find forms of collaboration among many cities in developing the concept of Smart City that can create young entrepreneurs and provide new jobs in the field of water resources management and economic improvement in the city," he stated, Monday (7/9).

In the occasion, with Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, there was a discussion of new jobs with the concept of Smart and Liveable City.

Sandi added that the invitation to attend the World Cities Summit 2018 was fully used to make Jakarta people better by providing jobs, affordable living, social and economic justice, as well as quality education.

"These four pillars that we focus on," he exclaimed.

Previously reported, Sandi would attend the World Cities Summit on July 9-10, 2018. The World Cities Summit is a biennial meeting as a forum meeting of city stakeholders, experts and industry to overcome urban challenges, share solutions, and cooperation to create sustainable development.
