Anies Scheduled to Attend ASEAN Capital Leaders Meeting

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan is scheduled to attend meeting with capital leaders of ASEAN member countries called 'The 6th Meeting of Governors/Mayors of ASEAN Capitals (MGMAC)' in Singapore, Saturday (7/7).

Result from MGMAC will be made into Singapore Declaration

According to written statement letter from Jakarta Communication Informatics and Statistics Dept., this meeting will discuss various issues related to urban challenges and sustainable urban development.

Capital Leaders of ASEAN member countries will strengthen their cooperation, sharing ideas and experiences, especially that related to community resilience, water resource management, an smart technologies for sustainable environment.

"Result from MGMAC will be provided into Singapore Declaration. This agreement will be our commitment to strengthen cooperation and support for ASEAN community development," as written in statement letter, Saturday (7/7).

It is the sixth time MGMAC is held. Previously, MGMAC was held in Jakarta in 2013, Bangkok in 2014, Kuala Lumpur in 2015, Vientiane in 2016, and Manila in 2017.

MGMAC is a biennial event of World Cities Summit which is held in Singapore and presenting city stakeholders and other relevant partners from around the world.

Besides attending on MGMAC, Anies and Jakarta delegations are scheduled to have a meeting with Singapore National Development Minister, Lawrence Wong and Singapore Foreign Affairs Minister, Vivian Balakrishnan to review about various cooperation opportunities in urban development.
