In total there were 12,444 bottles of liquor destroyed. Many of them were confiscated from West Jakarta 2,588 bottles, North Jakarta 2,036 bottles, South Jakarta 1,538 bottles, East Jakarta 1,500 bottles, and Central Jakarta 1,279 bottles.

“We destroy 12,444 bottles of liquor confiscated in raids held along Ramadan. This (raid against liquors distribution) must be done continuously, because we don’t want our youth being dirtied by liquors and lost control,” stated Head of Jakarta Satpol PP, Kukuh Hadi Santoso.

Meanwhile, South Jakarta Mayor, Syamsuddin Noor, stressed that liquors distribution must be tightly monitored and only particular stores allowed to sell them. If there were stores in settlements sold liquors illegally, the owners will get firm sanction.

“Not everyone can sell (liquors), only permitted places like hotels or bars. If there were stores sold liquors illegally, we can seal those stores, especially if the liquors were sold to underage children,” he asserted.
