All urban village and sub-district heads in West Jakarta Administration are asked to be active in encouraging local residents to enliven Asian Games torch relay on August 16, 2018. According to plan, Asian Games torch will be paraded from Tanah Sereal Urban Village office to Plaza Taman Fatahillah Kota Tua and Kalijodo RPTRA.

I asked all urban village heads from 6 other sub-districts to also participate in this event

West Jakarta Mayor, Rustam Effendi stated, urban villages and sub-districts that is not crossed by Asian Games Torch Relay can also participate by performing some attractions or arts.

He explained, Asian Games torch bearer team will go through Jl. Zainul Arifin to KH Mas Mansur, Gajah Mada, Watergate, Plaza Taman Fatahillah then continue to Kalijodo RPTRA.

"It is only crossed two sub-districts which are Tambora and Taman Sari. But I asked all urban village heads from 6 other sub-districts to also participate in this event," he added, Tuesday (7/24).

West Jakarta Sport and Youth Sub-dept. Head, Joko Margo Santoso explained, Asian Games Torch Relay is divided into two stages. First is started from Tanah Sereal Urban Village office into Taman Fatahillah (Fatahillah Square). Then the second will start from Fatahillah Square to Kalijodo RPTRA through Asemka Flyover.

"Torch will be handed over in a relay on several points with entertainment stages. Several points don't have an event yet. We want locals to participat e and fill it with events," he conveyed.
