300 Dishub Personnel Standby in GBK

Jakarta Transportation Dept. (Dishub) deploys 300 personnel in Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) venue, Senayan, Central Jakarta.

We will also prepare 10 towing cars and two message sign vehicle units

Dishub will cooperate with police to ensure Asian Games XVIII Opening Ceremony runs well.

Jakarta Dishub Deputy Head, Sigit Wijatmoko mentioned, his personnel are divided in two work shifts. First is at 6AM-2PM and second is at 2PM-10PM.

"They will standby inside and outside GBK. We will also prepare 10 towing cars and two message sign vehicle units," he informed, Saturday (8/18).

He asked Asian Games XVIII opening ceremony visitors to use public transportation. Thus it can minimize traffic density.

According to him, visitors who use private vehicles can park it in hotels, buildings, or malls near GBK. Besides, parking lot is also provided at Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD) Lot 17.

"Visitors can use our shuttle buses to reach GBK for free," he stated.

For information, Jakarta Dishub has conducted traffic engineering in several roads to ensure Asian Games XVIII opening ceremony to run well.

His side will close several points on the southern side of Jalan Gerbang Pemuda, starts from Senayan Flyover and U-Turn under Senayan Flyover, and Jl. Pintu Satu Senayan. Then east side of Jl. Asia Afrika, starts from Mulia Hotel's traffic light to Fairmont Hotel's traffic light will be also closed.

Then, traffic flow from north (Slipi) to Permata Hijau will be diverted to Jl. Gatot Subroto–Bundaran Semanggi–Jl. Jenderal Sudirman–Bundaran Senayan–and beyond.

Meanwhile, traffic flow from Semanggi to TVRI will be diverted to Jl. Gatot Subroto–Jl. Tentara Pelajar–Jl. Gelora–and beyond.
