South Jakarta to Add 40,000 Books This Year

South Jakarta Library and Archives Sub-dept. is about to add more new books up to 40,000 copies this year.

 This year there will be an additional 40,000 new books

It is hoped able to attract the interest of reading citizens, especially the young generation in the region.

South Jakarta Library and Archives Sub-dept. Head, Evita Dewi Seiverda stated that her side has a collection of 90,000 books. Its existence is spread in several libraries in South Jakarta.

"Every year we continue to add to the book collection. This year there will be an additional 40,000 new books," she expressed, Tuesday (21/8).

She stated that book procurement is done directly by Jakarta Library and Archives Dept. Besides that, the addition of book collections is also obtained from community donations.

"Its procurement lies in the dept., we just accept. We hope it can be realized soon," she stressed.

Currently the library has been rampant in South Jakarta. Moreover, each RPTRA also has a library. In South Jakarta, there are 60 RPTRAs.

"Other libraries can also be seen in the reading corners and our office," she said.
