Jakarta Library and Archives Dept. has realized 21,145 copies of books through the 2018 APBD (APBD).

Jeje Nurjaman, Division Head of Deposit, Collection Development, Service and Conservation detailed that those books are consisting from 6,300 copies of Asian Games general books, 4,545 copies of e-books, and 10,300 copies of general books for Cikini Library, Central Jakarta and Kuningan, South Jakarta.

"We add the collection of books carefully. In addition to the quality and number of existing books, best seller books or those that are trending topics are also taken into our consideration," he expressed, Wednesday (8/15).

He explained that he continues to conduct weeding, namely the effort to spend a number of collections from the library, as they are deemed irrelevant, there are too many copies, or new editions.

"The weeding is also done by considering the ability of the room to accommodate limited books," he said.
