Pulogadung UP PKB will Launch Vehicle Smart Card Soon

Our target is to launch smart card system this October

Pulogadung Vehicle Testing Management Unit (UP PKB), East Jakarta will apply smart card system for vehicles which passed KIR test. Besides it is more efficient and practice, this system also prevents illegal levy (pungli).

Pulogadung UP PKB's Administration Division Head, Fatchuri said, smart card system is still in discussion with East Jakarta Samsat and Transportation Ministry. This system is targeted to be launched by Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan this October.

"We will cooperate with Police and Transportation Ministry for smart card implementation. Our target is to launch smart card system this October," he stated, Tuesday (8/28).

According to him, cooperation with police/Samsat is related with vehicle data integration. Such as to know about chassis number, vehicle engine number, vehicle testing validity period and vehicle registration (STNK) validity period .

Meanwhile, cooperation with Transportation Ministry is related with vehicle testing data such as Motor Vehicle Registration Certificate (SRUT) and vehicle testing result.

"Currently we have formed small group to formulate data integration mechanism and cooperation agreement. This team is formed by Jakarta Transportation Dept.," he mentioned.

According to plan, his side will test 100 smart cards in its launching. Each smart card has 32 Kilobyte capacity that can be filled with testing result and vehicle technical data. Remaining capacity can be used to fill other data from DKI Bank.
