Setu Babakan PBB Packed by Visitors

Thousands of people utilized Eid ul Fitr 1435 Hijri holiday by having recreation in Setu Babakan Betawi Cultural Village (PBB), Jagakarsa, South Jakarta. By only paying Rp 2,000 each, they can enjoy the beautiful scenery and taste various Betawi culinary, such as kerak telor (egg crust) and bir pletok (herbal drink), in the area as wide as 12 hectares.

Chandra (45), one of Setu Babakan PBB visitors from Cipete Selatan, South Jakarta, admitted he deliberately came with his wife and two children to utilize Eid holiday as well as to introduce the children about Betawi cultures.

“I took the kids here because it is cheap yet fun. In this place, there is Betawi cultural heritage which can be utilized to learn. Besides, the air is not so hot,” he expressed, Wednesday (7/30).

Indeed, Setu Babakan PBB management presents the visitors various Betawi traditional arts, such as gambang kromong music and dances. Moreover, the beauty of Betawi traditional house becomes a certain attraction for visitors who took pictures in front of it.

“Yes, there are attractions to entertain the visitors, like tanjidor (Betawi orchestra), gambang kromong, and other Betawi traditional arts. The visitors can also rent water-mobile duck,” said Indra Sutisna, one of Setu Babakan PBB caretakers.
