Seven entertainment stages are ready to shake Jakarta Car Free Night (CFN) in the event order of Jakarta’s 487th Anniversary on upcoming June 21. Those stages will be spread along Jalan MH Thamrin and Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, from Hotel Indonesia (HI) Roundabout to the National Monument, and featured a variety of musical genres starting from traditional music, such as keroncong, dangdutand campursari, until the flow of rock and roll, jazz, and blues.

Chairman of Jakarta’s 487th Anniversary Committee, Bambang Sugiyono, said the main event will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014. “ Jakarta Car Free Night Festival this year will only have seven entertainment stages that represent all society elements. Indeed, we make this event for the citizens ,” he stated, Tuesday (5/27).

According to Sugiyono, his party has coordinated with Jakarta Transportation Department and Jakarta Police for traffic management. This is because Jalan Thamrin until Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat is going to be closed to all vehicles during the event is held from 9-10 PM. Traffic diversion will begin gradually at 4 PM and total closing at 6 PM. However, everything will still be discussed with related parties.

Then, on June 22, series of event will be held in marathon from morning until evening. Started with a ceremony, Jakarta’s anniversary special plenary meeting, evening reception at City Hall, and ended with Jakarta Humanoid Festival Happening Art along Jalan MH Thamrin. Various programs are also organized. At least 52 shows will celebrate Jakarta’s 487th anniversary, including the shows held in municipality/regency level.

Other events to be held are the Jakarta International 10K, Jakarta Great Sale, Jakarnaval, Jakarta Fair, et cetera. As for the events held in municipality/regency level are Pasar Baroe Festival in Central Jakarta, Rawa Belong Flower Festival in West Jakarta, Gebyar Pesisir in North Jakarta, Palang Pintu Festival in South Jakarta, 10 sub-district entertainment stages in East Jakarta, and Coastal Culinary Festival in Seribu Islands.

For the Jakarta Anniversary Declaration that will be held on Sunday (6/1), the event will took place at Marto Bridge, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. The declaration will be held simultaneously in other regions, namely in West Jakarta based in West Jakarta Mayor office, North Jakarta based in Pluit Reservoir, South Jakarta based in Setu Babakan, East Jakarta based in Pulogebang Terminal, and Seribu Islands centered in Pramuka Island.
