Used as Parking Lot, Park in Kalideres Terminal Damaged

Post Eid homecoming flow, the park in Kalideres Terminal, West Jakarta, is severely damaged. The plants are dead and flower pots are scattered. This condition happens because during homecoming flow the park was utilized as parking lot for motorcycles belong to people who took their family members to the terminal for homecoming.

It has been a routine that during homecoming and returning flows this park becomes instant parking lot. Whereas, there is a wide enough parking lot at the back of the terminal

Bardi (43), Kalideres Terminal janitor, disclosed that hundreds of motorcycles were parked in the park during homecoming flow. As a result, the green grass and plants are now dead, and flower pots are damaged.

“It has been a routine that during homecoming and returning flows this park becomes instant parking lot. Whereas, there is a wide enough parking lot at the back of the terminal,” he said, Wednesday (7/30).

Homecomers at Kalideres Terminal Declined 10 Percent

Bardi assumed the terminal’s visitors were reluctant to park their motorcycles in the official parking lat due to its location which quite far. They preferred to park in the park by paying Rp 2,000 to unscrupulous terminal officers who guarded the park.

Responding this matter, Head of Kalideres Terminal, Joko Sukarno, explained that the park was used as parking lot because there is not enough parking space in the terminal.

“Indeed, the (park) condition is chaotic. But later after returning flow is over, we will repair the park,” he stated.
