“Civil servants must go back to work on Monday, August 4. As for teachers, according to academic calendar, they must start teaching on August 6,” stated Head of Jakarta Personnel Board (BKD), I Made Karmayoga, Wednesday (7/30).
According to Karmayoga, Jakarta Provincial Government has given Eid holiday in accordance to central government’s decision, which is from July 28 until August 1, 2014.
Eid ul Fitr, Public Services Run as Usual“So, there is enough time to gather with the family. On Monday (8/4), all employees must go back to work. We make sure that all employees will serve the residents as usual by Monday,” he asserted.
If the civil servants skipped from work by that time, Karmayoga told that some sanctions are waiting them, from verbal reprimand, written reprimand, until no Regional Performance Allowance (TKD) for a month. The TKD can be stopped for three months if the civil servants received written reprimand.
“Would you want your TKD cut just because you skip work for a day?” he asked.
However, Karmayoga said that the level of discipline of city’s civil servants is increasing every year.
“The amount of civil servants skipped work declines every year. Hopefully their presence on the first day of work (after Eid holiday) this year is better than last year,” he expressed.
