Packaging is a silent marketing, their product's package should be attractive and informative

Jakarta Industry and Energy (PE) Dept. gives packaging design training for 500 small and medium enterprises (IKM) in 2018.

Jakarta PE Dept.'s Small Medium Industry Section Head, Frida Elizabeth stated, product packaging is one of the most important things that needs to be concerned in marketing.

According to her, product packaging is a part in branding which is used to introduce product to the market or consumers that can affect the sales.

"Packaging is a silent marketing, their product's package should be attractive and informative," she said, Tuesday (9/4).

She explained, Jakarta PE Dept. cooperates with experts in design, both from individuals, academics and associations. Those experts will give some knowledge or training for IKM participants about how to make a good packaging that could attract consumers.

"Each waves contain of four-days training. On the first day, learning materials are given,second day is private consultation and third day is to create a simple package. Then on the fourth day, IKM participants will learn standardized branding and hold comparative study by visiting shopping centers and packaging factories," she informed.

She added, training is done in 14 waves. Each waves has 35 IKM participants with different businesses such as in fashion, culinary, craft, and accessory.

"Now it is entering the seventh wave. They are not only trained but its design is also given in soft file included with sample packaging," she said.
