Giri Kencana Reservoir Construction Reaches 40 Percent

Giri Kencana Reservoir construction in Cilangkap Urbang Village, Cipayung, East Jakarta has reached 40 percent. This reservoir is built on around four hectares land and this project is targeted to finish by the end of 2019.

Currently its construction progress reaches 40 percent and it is targeted to complete by the end of 2019

Based on beritajakarta observation on the field this Friday (9/14), six heavy equipment deployed to deepen the reservoir which is located on Jalan Assyafiiyah and Jalan Giri Kencana, RW 04 and RW 06 Cilangkap. Excavated soil is piling up on vacant land located on the roadside.

E. Jakarta Mayor Wants Reservoir Construction to Be Accelerated

East Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-dept.'s Maintenance Section Head, Yoserizal said Giri Kencana Reservoir which is built by Jakarta SDA Dept. will prevent inundation on roads along Sunter River's down stream.

"Jakarta SDA Dept. will build Giri Kencana Reservoir to prevent inundation on roads that located near Sunter River path," he informed.

Meanwhile, Jakarta SDA Dept.'s River and Coastal Elevation and Development on East Flow System, Andika Purnomo said, Giri Kencana Reservoir construction is continued since January. His side plans to add its depth on land which is previously used as dam, rice field, and swamp.

"Now we try to deepen the land and it releases a lot of water since it is formerly used as dam, rice field, and swamp. Currently its construction progress reaches 40 percent and it is targeted to complete by the end of 2019," he explained.

According to him, mostly it will be deepen into eight meters depth. While its will be surrounded with jogging track and park. His side targets it to complete in 2019 because currently eight resident's lands are still in acquisition process.
