Returning Flow in Rawamangun Terminal Quiet

Entering D+5 Eid, homecoming returning flow in Rawamangun Terminal, East Jakarta, looks quiet. This situation is contrast to the situation in Kampung Rambutan Terminal and Pulogadung Terminal that have been crowded with homecomers.

According to some autobus companies (PO) in the terminal, the amount of homecomers this year decreases drastically compared to previous years.

“Last year, D-10 Eid the tickets were already sold out. This year, we’re still offering tickets even on Eid ul Fitr day. The amount of passengers decreases drastically,” said Rizal (40), officer to an autobus company, Saturday (8/2).

Returning Flow at Kampung Rambutan Terminal Crowded

Meanwhile, Rawamangun Terminal Team II Commandant, Sudarmanto, admitted that indeed the amount of homecomers this year in is decreasing compared to previous years. He assessed it happens because Rawamangun Terminal is only a transit terminal, which is different to Kampung Rambutan Terminal and Pulogadung Terminal that are Class A terminals.

“It is quiet here. Until Friday (8/1), there were only 451 passengers arrived in 65 buses. And today, there are 11 buses transporting 127 passengers,” he stated, Saturday (8/2).

In addition, Sudarmanto told that the collapsed of Comal Bridge in Pemalang, Central Java, some time ago was also affecting the enthusiast of homecomers to go back to their hometowns using bus.

“The damage (of Comal Bridge) is really affecting. The terminal’s activities which usually lasted until 9 PM becomes lasted until 3 AM due to the collapsed of Comal Bridge,” he uttered.
