PT MRT Jakarta Increases Security in All Facilities

PT MRT Jakarta continues to tighten supervision and security in the depot area and all facilities of PT MRT Jakarta, following graffiti action on the outer body of PT MRT train car in the area of Lebak Bulus Depot, South Jakarta.

"We do this to avoid the same case in the future," said Wiliam P Sabandar, President Director of PT MRT Jakarta, Thursday (9/27).

He expressed that it is done by adding security facilities such as CCTV and wall elevation at the Lebak Bulus Depot and added with barbed wire. Previously, there were only four CCTV cameras in the depot, now it is added to 14 units.

His party also intends to cooperate with the Polda Metro Jaya to ensure that all MRT Jakarta's public facilities are maintained. He added, until now, the responsibility for safeguarding is still the authority of the contractor.

"But once the authority is handed over and the MRT has full authority, so we will immediately implement a layered security system," he stated.
