Basuki Promised to Make All TransJakarta Bus Lanes Smooth

The condition of TransJakarta bus lanes is often complained by the passengers due to having many potholes and bumpy. However, this situation will not last long.

I want to make TransJakarta bus lanes smooth. We have the money, why couldn’t we make them smooth?

Vice Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama stated that Jakarta Provincial Government has a big amount of City Budget (APBD). Thus, it is not an impossible thing to make city streets, particularly TransJakarta bus lanes, smooth.

“I want to make TransJakarta bus lanes smooth. We have the money, why couldn’t we make them smooth? Jakarta is weird,” he expressed, Wednesday (8/6).

Rp 2.5 Trillion Prepared for Elevated TransJakarta Bus Lane

By making TransJakarta bus lanes smooth, Basuki said that it would give convenience to the passengers and attract private vehicle users to leave their vehicles at home and ride on TransJakarta bus instead.

“So, the people who ride on Avanza or Xenia would prefer riding on Scania (the brand of TransJakarta bus), a comfier bus because of its independent suspension,” he explained.

According to Basuki, later TransJakarta bus lanes would no longer be affected by puddles during rainy season. In addition, the system of water disposal pump, which currently being improved, would be able to free the city streets from flood.

“Just relax. If our pump system is good, the roads would no longer be inundated,” he said.

The repair of TransJakarta bus lanes is planned to use infrared technology and the roads will be reinforced with concrete using quick-dry materials. But still, all is done in accordance to the existing budget.

“I prefer using infrared (technology). Later, the roads will be reinforced with concrete. Quick-dry materials are expensive. If the work is done in two weeks, it’s okay,” he uttered.

This plan is targeted to be realized next year. Besides existing 12 TransJakarta bus corridors, the same technology will also be applied in three elevated corridors to come.
