The Transjakarta Management Board (BLU) plans to conduct sterilization against Transjakarta bus lanes in the capital. Its implementation will be intensified in post-Eid ul Fitr 1453 Hijri. Even, maximum penalty will also be imposed, that is Rp 500 thousand for two-wheeled vehicle and Rp 1 million for four-wheeled vehicle.

According to Pargaulan Butar-Butar, Head of Transjakarta BLU, his side will instruct the police traffic unit to implement the maximum penalty. This is because the amount of Tranjakarta lane trespasser keeps rampant. Although the exact amount is still unknown, but the facts on the field shows that the vehicle passed the lane every day is quite high.

"Lately, the vehicle passed the Transjakarta lanes every day is quite high. That's why, post-Eid ul Firt, we will do sterilization against Transjakarta lanes plus maximum penalty. It aims to give deterrent effect," he expressed, Monday (7/7).

To optimize it, the City Police Traffic Unit and Transportation Department would be involved. He admitted, such program was slack because of the rain often pours the capital until causing puddle on regular roads, thus many vehicles using the Transjakarta lane. Another problem faced is many separators of Transjakarta corridor damaged and its height is nearly parallel to the road conditions, causing vehicles enter to the lane.

Such condition is commonly spotted at corridor 7 (Kampung Rambutan-Kampung Melayu), 5 (Kampung Melayu-Ancol), 9 (Pinang Ranti-Pluit), 10 (Cililitan-Tanjung Priok) and so on.

Based in the data of Transjakarta BLU, the Transjakarta bus passenger continues to increase per day from 310 thousand to 370 thousand after sterilization way is implemented. Unfortunately, its amount decreased to 340 thousand per day when the program closed.
