Inundation in Kampung Melayu has Receded

Inundation at RW 04 and 05, Kampung Melayu, Jatinegara, East Jakarta has gradually receded. Overflowed water from Ciliwung River had entered the settlements since 4 AM.

Previously on Sunday (10/28), Jatinegara Sub-district Head, Nasrudin Abu Bakar stated, his side has informed the residents to anticipate floodwater from Bogor, West Java.

"Around 4 AM, water flows and inundates the settlement with 50-100 centimeters high. But it is now receding with current water level of 50 centimeters," he informed, Monday (10/29).

According to him, there is no report regarding evacuation. Residents who are mostly owned two-story house prefer to stay at their own houses.

"This inundation is caused by overflow water from Ciliwung bec ause the river is not normalized yet," he mentioned.
