City Continues to Anticipate Flood and Inundation in Jakarta

Jakarta Provincial Government continues to do some anticipation to prevent flood and inundation during rainy season.

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan stated, his side continues to do naturalization on rivers and reservoirs, dredging mud sedimentation, and cleaning garbage on micro and macro waterways.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Dept. Head, Teguh Hendarwan informed, his side has instructed Blue Troops in 44 sub-districts to optimize cleaning in the areas.
"We also do repairing and maintenance for waterways and rivers routinely," he said.
Entering rainy season, he added, his side also intensifies his coordination and synergy with Jakarta's buffer regions such as Bogor, Depok, and Tangerang.
"We are optimistic that we can suppress inundation and flood occurrence this year," he affirmed.
For information, Jakarta SDA Dept. has started dredging in 14 reservoirs, lakes, and retention basins since early October 2018.
Dredging has been done in Kampung Rambutan 1 and 2 Reservoirs, Pondok Rangon Reservoir, Cilangkap Reservoir, Goro Kencana Reservoir, Cimanggis Reservoir, Jalan Kaja Reservoir, Jalan Kaja II Reservoir, Pekayon Reservoir, Setu Babakan Lake, Rawa Minyak Situ (Lake), and Aselih Embung (Retention Basin).
