Water UPK Personnel Deployed Every Day to Clean Channels From Trash

Jakarta Environment Dept.'s Water Unit personnel collect 300 tons of trash from the rivers and water channels in five Jakarta regions every day.

4,300 Water UPK's PHL personnel are deployed every day to transport 300 tons of trash from 13 rivers and hundreds of connecting channels

Jakarta Environment Dept. Head, Isnawa Adji mentioned, Water UPK is responsible for cleanliness in 13 rivers and hundreds of connecting channels in Jakarta.

"4,300 Water UPK's PHL personnel are deployed every day to transport 300 tons of trash from 13 rivers and hundreds of connecting channels," he stated, Monday (10/29).

He said, river and water channel cleaning is done to minimize inundation during rainy season.

"We clean it from trash to ensure water flows well. We also remind residents to maintain rivers and channels cleanliness," he affirmed.
