Central Jakarta Mayor, Bayu Meghantara asked regional heads in Kebon Kosong Kemayoran area to clean waste in the water channels along Jalan HBR Motik that washed up when heavy rain poured the city last Sunday.

"Besides mud, the waste has the potential to overflow into the road. That's why the channel must be cleaned and normalized," he expressed, when he reviewed the channel at the location, Monday (10/29).

Responding on this matter, Kemayoran Sub-district Head, Herry Purnama admitted that joint personnel will be alerted to hold a communal work on Tuesday (10/30).

"We do this to anticipate inundation. Normalization remains to be done and will be coordinated with related sub-dept.," he stated.
