Jakarta UMP 2019 Set at Rp 3.94 Million

Jakarta Provincial Goverment has set Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) 2019 of Rp 3,940,973. This amount is increased by 8.03 percent from UMP 2018 which is Rp 3,648,035.

Determination on UMP 2019 is regulated in Governor Regulation (Pergub) No.114/2018 about Provincial Minimum Wage 2019. This Pergub is referring to Manpower and Transmigration Ministry Regulation No.7/2013 about Minimum Wage that contains of regulation where Governor determines UMP and announces it simultaneously every November 1.
Acting Jakarta Governor (Plh), Saefullah mentioned, Jakarta UMP 2019 is determined through various considerations and inputs from related stakeholders.

In addition to increasing Jakarta UMP, Jakarta Government also provides facilities for workers. Workers can get benefits from those facilities by owning Kartu Pekerja (Worker Cards).
"Workers can ride Transjakarta bus for free, get affordable food subsidies, get Jakarta Pintar Plus Cards (KJP Plus) for their children's education. It is form of Jakarta Government's concern towards workers," he conveyed.
For information, Worker Card can be obtained by workers who have Jakarta ID cards and salary up to UMP+10 percent not limited to working period.
Worker Card mechanism for issuance is divided in five stages. First, applicants should apply by bringing photocopies of e-ID, Family Card (KK), NPWP, salary slip, and reference letter from company. Second, registration can be done through Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Dept. (Disnakertrans) or Sub-dept. in each regions or worker union or association.
Third, Jakarta Disnakertrans will verify applicants data. Fourth, applicant should open account in Bank DKI with minimal deposit of Rp 50,000. Worker Cards will be printed after applicants have passed Bank DKI verification.
Fifth, Jakarta Disnakertrans and Bank DKI will distribute Worker Cards in several locations that have been determined by worker union.
Workers who have owned Worker Cards can buy food commodities with affordable price in 96 markets managed by Perumda Pasar Jaya, 110 RPTRAs, 18 flats, 2 PD. Dharma Jaya meat shop outlets, and Worker Union Cooperative which is established by Work Team.
